27th August - Today's News: UK's Hottest Summer

  This summer will ‘almost certainly’ be warmest on record for the UK - although 1976 will remain the warmest in the CET record.   Whilst we've not had any really exception heat, the summer has been persistently warm across the whole of the UK.
