16th December - Today's News: Coldest Weather Since 2010

The coldest spell of weather in Evesham since December 2010, with 2 consecutive nights falling into double figure minima (-11.4c on Thursday and -10.3c this morning).   Worth noting that since 2010, the lowest temperature I had recorded was -6.5c, and some winters haven't seen it drop below -4c.  Sunday's snow remains widespread with lots of hard-packed ice around.   Be interesting to see if any survives Sunday's rain and much milder conditions .....   Canals and lakes freeze and beaches turn white with no let-up ahead in Britain's big freeze Amber weather warning as heavy snow hits central Scotland There are still some Shetland homes without power as temperature of minus 17 recorded in Braemar in coldest night of year - some unofficial stations got down to nearly -20c overnight. 14th December - Today's News: British Freeze Continues
