Now this is interesting: Wind turbines cause warming?! Large-scale US wind power would cause warming that would take roughly a century to offset (but the equivalent energy production from fossil fuels would have a bigger global effect) .  The point though is that "renewable"  energy isn't without it's own drawbacks and climatic implications.
