31st January - Today's News: 2 Dead as Storms Malik and Corrie Hit Northern Britain

On Saturday,  Storm Malik sweeps in: Britain is battered by 80mph winds as Met Office warns that power and mobile phone coverage could be hit - whilst Sunday and today saw the chaos of Storm Corrie with thousands without power as second storm hits

But on a positive side - though ironic for those without power - UK windfarms generate record amount of electricity during Storm Malik

In Europe, there was one dead as storm batters Denmark and Sweden and there's flooding in Hamburg after hurricane-force winds hit German north coast

Meanwhile in the eastern US, incredible drone footage shows icy Brant Rock homes covered in frozen sea spray as temperatures plunge to 16F and more than two feet of snow falls on Massachusetts whilst there were amazing Storm Kenan scenes from New York with mass snowball fight breaking out in Washington Square Park and people skiing through Central Park and further south, the coldest Florida winter in 12 years sees iguanas fall from trees
