26th May - Today's News: May Temperature Records Smashed Across UK, Ireland & France

Yesterday was the hottest May day on record in UK as temperatures pass 34C - and also the hottest bank holiday on record - whilst Wales and the Channel Islands also broke their May record and Ireland sees new May high of 28.8C

And today it's already widely 26-27c across much of southern Britain - from Cornwall to Norfolk - at 9am ......   Likely yesterday's record will fall later ......
