UK's new warmest December confirmed in Highlands with 18.7c at Achfary. Though whether it was on the 28th or 29th December remains uncertain - the Met Office count all temperatures until 9am as belonging to the previous day and, whilst therefore officially the temperature is down as being on the 28th, it's very likely this high temperature was actually recorded around 2am on the 29th
