12th January - Today's News: Heavy Snow Hits Japan

Motorists stranded and trains delayed as winter weather pummels Japan  

This comes after  
Madrid is paralysed by first heavy snow in fifty years.

While in the US, a 
Winter storm leaves more than 150,000 people without power across Texas as some cities in the Lone Star state record their largest snowfall in almost 40 years 

Here in the UK, we may see more snow before too long ....  And who knows, maybe even some more light pillars?
