29th October - Today's News: UN Warns World on Track for 3.1c Warming

We're all seeing the consequences - both in storm damage and increased food prices - but we're still not doing anything about it.  World way off target in tackling climate change - UN   So is the UN warning of 3.1C global warming a surprise?   Not all all!   And if Trump and his selfish, arrogant, money-obsessed, anti-science, bigots win the US presidential election, it could be game over.

It was a stormy Sunday night in Mallorca: road closures, eight rescues, and 77 emergency operations whilst on the mainland, Biblical hail storms smash car windows in Spain’s Andalucia as Dana sparks flooding and travel chaos -  a confusingly named storm given that Cyclone Dana has just hit India!

Melting Arctic sea-ice could affect global ocean circulation, study warns although a slowing ocean current could ease Arctic warming -- a little  and, of course, a collapse of the AMOC could have far reaching effects elsewhere.  So not really something we want to happen.
