28th December - Today's News: Dozens Dead After Record US Snowstorm

21st December 2022 - Roads Flood after Big Thaw

17th December - Today's News: Noctilucent Clouds Seen Over San Franscico

The rarest clouds in the world appear over the San Francisco Bay Area - not normally seen this time of year nor at such low latitudes so very likely due to a rocket launch. 16th December - Today's News: Coldest Weather Since 2010

The coldest spell of weather in Evesham since December 2010, with 2 consecutive nights falling into double figure minima (-11.4c on Thursday and -10.3c this morning).   Worth noting that since 2010, the lowest temperature I had recorded was -6.5c, and some winters haven't seen it drop below -4c.  Sunday's snow remains widespread with lots of hard-packed ice around.   Be interesting to see if any survives Sunday's rain and much milder conditions .....   Canals and lakes freeze and beaches turn white with no let-up ahead in Britain's big freeze Amber weather warning as heavy snow hits central Scotland There are still some Shetland homes without power as temperature of minus 17 recorded in Braemar in coldest night of year - some unofficial stations got down to nearly -20c overnight. 14th December - Today's News: British Freeze Continues

In pictures: Snow blankets parts of the UK as snow and ice cause travel disruption around UK Here, yesterday saw our first ice day since February 2021 and today may be even colder.  In Glasgow it remained below -5c all day.  But at least we have power.  In Shetland power cuts declared major incident with Scotland on course for coldest December in a decade .  Milder weather should arrive in England on Sunday, and it currently looks like being a "green" Christmas .... 12th December - Today's News: Snow Chaos Hits England

An unexpected 3 inches of snow in Evesham on Sunday - and it didn't all turn to slush straight away, making it the best snow event since 2018 as West of England residents wake up to covering of snow and motorways shut amid treacherous conditions . Last night it was then the turn of the SE, as snow causes road closures and long delays in the East of England and the weather brings London transport to a standstill Meanwhile, it's turned much colder in the north where the temperature drops to -15.6C in Braemar on coldest night of year California is hit by huge 'bowling ball' storm that's brought forty-eight inches of snow Temperatures plummet after freak thunderstorm hits Sydney And a volcano erupts in Guatemala, forcing road closure

10th December - Today's News: Record Heat in the USA

Heat in the southern U.S. is off the charts to start December whilst Alaska’s northernmost city posts warmest winter temperature on record However, across the Atlantic, it's Britain in the deep freeze as Manchester Airport closes runways and diverts flights due to snow - for most of us it's just cold and frosty though. 14 dead as South African worshippers swept away in Jukskei river flash flood at the weekend. 1st December - Today's News: Deadly Landslide Hits Brazilian Highway
