British claim Arctic to be ice free this year is 'incorrect' and 'hasty', say Russian scientists and I agree, though a record low year looks likely.  Also, evidence suggests that Arctic was last ice free in summer during the Holocene Climatic Optimum around 6-8,000 years ago.    Not the Eemian interglacial.
