21st May - Today's News: Could Sea Levels Rise 2m by 2100?




The first named storm of the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season forms, but Andrea isn't expected to cause any problems,  But are hurricanes getting stronger – and is the climate crisis to blame?  And will I ever get used to calling anthropogenic climate change a "climate crisis"?  I don't think so ....   The more they sensationalise it, the more I feel turned off.

It now looks likely that a giant impact caused difference between Moon's hemispheres - way back in the early days of the solar system


And a better understanding of the effect of melting ice sheets: Experts weigh in with a "small but meaningful probability of SLR [sea level rise] exceeding two metres by the year 2100 under the high temperature scenario".  Elsewhere, however, media reports imply such a rise is quite likely ....
