Wildfires burn through record area in California as blazes continue to spread with at least one dead as wildfires trap 50 hikers in California, decimate an entire town in Washington, burn through Utah and Colorado and cause more than 100,000 to lose power in Oregon during record heatwave and seen from above: a passenger films plane flying above thick black clouds of smoke as California  wildfires continue to burn amid record-breaking temperatures of 121F

Meanwhile Denver is under a winter storm watch two days after the city hit 101 degrees

And it's proving a record year for Atlantic storms as two new systems form in a day
