24th October - Today's News: Computer Model to Predict UK Tornadoes

5th October - Today's News: Deadly Flash Floods in Italy and France

France sends in the army while rescue teams hunt for survivors in Italy as torrential rain and winds from Storm Alex leave at least two dead and up to 20 missing Huge rescue effort underway after severe floods kill two people in northern Italy Firefighters among eight people still missing after Storm Alex hit southern France Over 60mm here in 60 hours made it the wettest spell in Evesham for several years, possibly since July 2007.   However, no problems this time.   Other parts of the UK saw over 100mm of rain as the heavy rain brings flooding and travel disruption This year's California wildfires burn record 4 million acres, more than twice previous high And how a Mayan community was obliterated 1,590 years ago when a huge volcano erupted

3rd October - Today's News: Storm Alex Hits England and France

  Storm Alex brings heavy rain and high winds to parts of UK with a lot more rain - and likely flooding - in many parts over the weekend.  Here in Evesham we've already had 50% more rain than we saw in the whole of September.   Meanwhile Southeast France on red alert as Storm Alex wreaks havoc there.
