1st September - Today's News: Australian Winter Hottest on Record


Here, a wet summer comes to a close - for those parts of Britain that had a wet summer, that is.  In Evesham, only July was wetter than average, and that by just 1mm .....   

US storm deaths: Death toll from Harvey passes 40 - this of course pales into significance when compared with the total number of deaths from flooding around the world this year.  

Meanwhile, out in the Atlantic, Hurricane Irma becomes Category 3 storm
