25th November - Today's News: Major Flash Floods, Snowfall and Record Temperatures as Deadly Storm Bert Hits Britain
A rather interesting weekend in Britain, weatherwise!
Storm Bert five kills at least five and wreaks havoc with 82mph winds, snow flurries and a month's worth of rain
There was an amber snow alert in Scotland during Storm Bert on Saturday with the Queensferry Crossing ice closure a 'safety first' decision

In South Wales there is anger as Storm Bert leaves trail of destruction - whilst the storm was well forecast, I do think it warranted an amber warning - and a more widespread yellow warning - for the amount of rain on Sunday, especially when it became obvious the front was clearing much more slowly than originally expected. Over an inch of rain in Evesham on Sunday- and over 40mm in 48 hours (2/3rd normal November rainfall) but fortunately looks like just normal winter flooding of the floodplains here.
And amid all this, Saturday saw the UK date minima record fall (-11.4c in Kinbrace), whilst on Sunday the date maxima record was smashed (+18.7c in Santon Downham).
Dry and sunny down here now, but there are still high winds in Scotland as Storm Bert enters third day
