Meanwhile here, Britain's earliest harvest for 40 years: Farmer says UK heatwave has brought an almost unheard of June yield  but other farmers warn of lettuce, broccoli and cauliflower shortages.  It was, incidentally, my warmest ever June and driest ever month.
