Hundreds of thousands of people evacuated as heavy rain hits wide areas of Japan with the latest being that there are at least 27 dead, over 50 missing as heavy rain hits southwestern Japan. Yanasa in Umaji village, Kochi Prefecture, saw 1,132 millimeters of rain
in 72 hours, which is double the total amount that usually falls in the
month of July, according to NHK. Or nearly twice as much as normally fallls in Evesham in a whole year.
