Climate change preceded Ice Age megafauna extinction - not actually anything new, as an increase in rainfall and consequential changes in vegetation has long been thought a significant factor in the demise of mega fauna from the mammoth steppes of Siberia etc, though this study adds glacial melt and melting permafrost into the equation.   Humans probably helped tip the balance further.
