19th September - Today's News: Deadly Storm Ali Hits British Isles
There's road, rail and ferry disruption as Storm Ali hits Scotland whilst in Ireland, woman (50s) dies after caravan blows off cliff in Co Galway and there's 55,000 without power as strong winds cancel flights and ferry crossings. Just a bit blustery here, and still very little rain this month. Could be another storm this weekend which may impact more on England, especially the east ....

And an off topic but slightly bizarre story, as hillwalker Dave Monk says smoking ban loophole ruining bothy experience after children 'saturated' by fumes - having had the story first hand from other parties, and knowing more details, it seems he doesn't really understand what bothies are ..... In any case, coal fumes are far more dangerous!
