And there were also several flights cancelled across Germany as extreme winter weather brings widespread disruption

Today, heavy rain leads to flooding and travel disruption in the West Midlands - with the road from Evesham to Worcester closed, amongst others

Snow warning closes schools in north east Scotland

And on what should be the first day back to school or work for many, it really is Miserable Monday!

Meanwhile, in America, winter storm hammers eastern US; over 60 million face blizzard conditions
