20th August - Today's News: Britain's Hottest Day of Year

Saturday was the hottest day of the year so far in Britain - and will probably remain so now.     However, yesterday the BBC apologises for forecasting sunshine after downpours dampen barbeque weekend and it was only SE England that was hot anyway, with much of the north and west seeing more (predicted) rain over the weekend.
